USC leads the 2022 college football All-America Teams
Announcing the three Sam Teets 2022 college football All-America Teams
Every year, the Associated Press announces the All-America Teams, comprised of the best college football players for that individual season. I won’t ignore this opportunity to recognize some of the sport’s best players. Before we get into the College Football Playoff, here are my 2022 college football All-America Teams.
Please note, a player can only appear on my All-America teams once. That means a player can’t appear as a running back on one team and an all-purpose offensive player on another. This allows for maximum diversity among the selections.
Tell me who I snubbed on Twitter @Sam_Teets33 or in the comment section.

Among the 25 players on the All-America First-Team, Joe Alt, Calen Bullock, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Caleb Williams are the only true underclassmen. Quinshon Judkins, Drake Maye, and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. were the only true underclassmen to make this team, continuing the trend of upperclassmen dominating the All-American squads.
The SEC only had two players make appearances, while the ACC (four), Big Ten (seven), Big 12 (four), and Pac-12 (three) all performed as well or better. Five players made the team from non-Power 5 schools.

Five of the 25 players on the All-American Third-Team are from independent or non-Power 5 programs. Seven of the selections are from the Pac-12, outpacing the ACC (three), Big Ten (three), Big 12 (two), and SEC (five). Georgia (two), USC (three), and Washington (three) were the only programs with multiple players on the Third-Team. Neither the Bulldogs nor the Huskies had a selection on the first two teams.
There are 75 players represented on the three All-America teams. The Big Ten led the way with 17 total selections, followed by the Pac-12 with 15 and the SEC with 11. The ACC (nine) and Big 12 (eight) were the only Power 5 conferences with fewer than ten total selections. An additional 15 players came from non-Power 5 programs.
Alabama only had two players chosen for the All-America teams, and they both appeared on the First-Team defense. Georgia (two) was the only other SEC team with multiple selections in this whole process. The Pac-12 had three programs place players on the All-America teams in USC (seven), Utah (two), and Washington (three).
North Carolina (three) and Pittsburgh (three) were the only ACC teams with multiple selections. The Big Ten had Illinois (four), Iowa (two), Minnesota (two), and Ohio State (five) produce multiple All-Americans. TCU (three) was the only Big 12 team with multiple selections. Notre Dame (two) was the only independent program with multiple selections. Toledo (two) was the only Group of Five team with multiple All-Americans.
