Ranking the 2022 NFL Draft's top 40 linebackers
Devin Lloyd leads the way for over two dozen linebackers with draft-able grades
The 2022 NFL Draft features one of the deepest linebacker classes in recent history. Two dozen or more linebackers could hear their names called throughout the draft’s three days, and plenty will get calls as priority undrafted free agents. In today’s article, we’ll analyze the top 40 linebackers in this class, breaking them into several tiers.
I provided in-depth profiles for the top 20 prospects in this article, including comments on their physical measurements, production, and traits. I’m planning on adding those details for the remaining linebackers in the top 30 throughout today. Linebackers after 30 will only have their measurements and production listed.
Feel free to tell me in the comments or on Twitter @Sam_Teets33 if you believe a certain prospect should rank higher. Let me know if I missed anyone.

Cons: Missed roughly 15% of his tackle attempts throughout his career, more tools than technique, unproven as a heavy-duty pass rusher, technique and play recognition skills are underdeveloped for a two-year starter, gets lost in coverage, struggles to take on and shed blocks, hands don’t create separation from blockers
Production: 81 tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, five passes defensed, and one forced fumble in 2021
