He transferred from Florida to Tennessee for the 2022 season. He was born on May 8, 2002.

Awards: 2022 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll
Pros: Usually played LT but gaining experience at RT in 2023, thick throughout frame, explosive kick step, jump sets eliminate pass rush reps, hands pack some knockback, maintains a wide base, stout anchor to eat bull rushes, enough foot speed to work edge rushers up the arc, violent and powerful run blocker, uses power to seal rushing lanes, creates vertical displacement in the run game, significant displacement generated on down blocks, leg drive slowly walks defenders back, people mover in goal line situations, looks for extra work, doesn’t mind putting defenders on their butts, power to pancake anyone when he builds up momentum
Cons: Entered 2023 with less than 550 offensive snaps, arm length is acceptable but not great, hand placement is wide, allows defenders into his chest, long-arm moves are effective against him, Princely Umanmielen out-reached Mincey and had easy access to his chest (2022), hands can be swatted too easily, clamp and hands need to be more resilient, oversets opening the B gap, slow to redirect for B gap counters, foot speed and slide are a step slow, inconsistent recognizing stunts, lacks high-end reactive athleticism, bendy rushers capture his outside shoulder, examples of waist bending, balance is inconsistent, push-pull moves capitalize on his balance concerns, leans forward and becomes unbalanced in the run game, lunges in the run game allowing defenders to slip off his blocks or use swim moves, when he loses he loses bad
Overview: Mincey’s tape is filled with a lot of nice plays separated by colossal blown assignments. He usually plays left tackle but is gaining experience at right tackle in 2023. Mincey is thick throughout his frame and has an explosive kick step. His jump sets make the most of his power and take the air out of pass rush reps. The redshirt junior’s hands pack enough knockback to jostle and move smaller edge rushers off their arcs. He maintains a wide base with a stout anchor to slow and eventually halt bull rushes. Mincey doesn’t have elite foot speed or lateral agility, but there are reps where he carries rushers up the arc. The former Florida Gator shines in the run game, where he is a violent and powerful blocker. His power helps seal rushing lanes and generate significant vertical displacement. Mincey is a wrecking ball on down blocks and has the leg drive to move defenders off the line. The Florida native looks for extra work and buries defenders for pancakes. He is an unstoppable force when he builds momentum going into a block. However, Mincey bends at his waist and lunges into blocks in the run game. Lunging into blocks allows defenders to slip off block attempts or use swim moves for easy wins. His balance is very inconsistent in both the run and pass game. This makes him vulnerable to push-pull moves in pass protection. When Mincey loses, he tends to lose quickly and in a disastrous way. The former three-star recruit entered 2023 with less than 550 offensive snaps. His arm length is acceptable but far from great. The arm length combines with his high and wide hand placement to allow defenders easy access to his chest. Long-arm moves are effective against Mincey. His hands are predictable and can be swatted too easily. Mincey’s clamp and hands need to be more resilient, especially for a player with his strength. He oversets and lacks the lateral agility and high-end athleticism to redirect and cover the B gap. His foot speed and slide are a step slow to handle speed rushers. Bendy edge rushers capture his outside shoulder and turn the corner.
Overall, Mincey’s power and impact as a run blocker jump off the tape, but his inconsistent agility and balance lead to some worrisome losses. His recent off-the-field run in with the law won’t help his case to see more playing time at Tennessee. Mincey is a prime candidate to return to school in 2024 if his play doesn’t improve.
