Ben Murawski, LG Connecticut: 2026 NFL Draft Profile
Classification: Redshirt junior left guard from Harleysville, Pa.
Background: Murawski was a three-star recruit from St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn. in the class of 2022. He was an unranked two-star recruit for 247Sports and didn’t receive a star rating from Rivals or On3. Murawski was an unranked three-star recruit for ESPN with a 71 grade out of 100. He started for three years in high school and served as a team captain as a senior. Murawski ended his career with First Team All-Area, First Team All-Conference, and Second Team All-State honors. He lettered in basketball twice.
Injuries & Off-Field: Required surgery in summer of 2022 for torn labrum in left shoulder, tore labrum in right shoulder early in 2023 and required surgery, missed 2024 FAU game with undisclosed injury, suffered a season-ending knee injury vs. Wake Forest (2024)
Awards: N/A
Pros: Broad shoulders, smooth and natural athlete, quick and explosive out of pass set, maintains a wide base, sinks hips to maintain anchor, re-anchors even after giving up chest, anchor infrequently challenged in 2024, sturdy punches to re-route pass rushers, some knockback in arm extensions, snatch-trap, agility to mirror most rushers in pass pro, catches spin moves when balanced in pass set, drives and rolls power through hips, twists defensive linemen to seal run lanes, easy mover, quick off the line, speed to reach block, cleans up backside run defenders, comfortable climbing to the second level, good combo blocker, range as a run blocker, gives running back a long runway by blocking on the move
Cons: Injury history, under 450 career offensive snaps entering 2025, only taken significant snaps at left guard, questionable arm length, sometimes mentally overwhelmed when the defense sends multiple bodies his way, late to recognize stunts, lacks quick twitch to correct himself in a phone booth, leaves chest exposed to power rushers, hands chopped or swiped too easily, needs better resilience in hands, occasional forward lean exploited by spins, needs to clamp and sustain second level blocks instead of just pushing, punches whiff at the second level sometimes
Overview: Murawski possesses an NFL-caliber build with excellent mass and broad shoulders. His arm length is more on the questionable side and could cause some limitations. Murawski’s history of significant injuries will raise red flags during the pre-draft process, but several offensive linemen, like Landon Dickerson, have overcome college injuries to thrive in the league. Murawski is a smooth and natural athlete with rare mobility for a lineman his size. He explodes out of his stance to quickly enter his pass set and maintains a wide base to counter power rushers. The Pennsylvania native leaves his chest exposed too often, but he sinks his hips to re-anchor and stonewall bull rushes. He drives impressive power through his hands and extensions to knockback or re-route pass rushers. Murawski has a snatch-trap in his arsenal but needs to significantly develop his hands. Defenders chop or swipe them away too easily. Murawski needs to display a firmer grip and replace his hands quicker. He has the agility to mirror and frame smaller, more explosive interior rushers. Murawski enters his redshirt junior season with fewer than 450 career offensive snaps. This inexperience is reflected in some of his struggles processing blitzes and stunts. Unfortunately, he lacks the quick twitch to recover when late to notice misdirection and simulated pressures. He needs more snaps to speed up his recognition. In the run game, Murawski explodes off the line and rolls power through his hips. When not working vertically, he twists defensive linemen to create obvious run lanes. He’s quick enough off the line to establish reach blocks. Murawski is a natural mover who quickly climbs to the second level. He’s an effective combo blocker and possesses the range to lead block on the perimeter. Murawski needs to show more ferocity at the second level to either sustain blocks for longer or finish them with pancakes. He occasionally falls off blocks because of a forward lean or whiffs on second level blocks by missing a two-handed punch.
Overall, Murawski is an inexperienced left guard with a lengthy injury history, but he’s a tremendous athlete with the anchor, burst, range, and power to thrive in a wide zone scheme. Murawski’s small sample size and 2024 injury might make him a better fit for the 2027 class. As long as he stays healthy, he projects as a future top 100 selection.
