2024 NFL Draft: Three-Round February Mock Draft
I'm expanding my latest 2024 NFL Draft mock to cover three rounds
I’m sneaking my February mock for the 2024 NFL Draft in before prospects converge on Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. This mock covers the first three rounds of the draft with analysis of all picks in the first round. I have in-depth scouting reports on many of these players available for free in this newsletter, so make sure to check those out.
I tried to mix some predictive elements and randomness into this mock draft. This is my first mock of the season that isn’t based on my personal big board. I liked but didn’t love the final outcome of this process. The next paragraph covers some of the shortcomings of this mock that I will need to work on heading into the Combine process.
Mock Draft 1.0 l Mock Draft 2.0 l February Top 250 Big Board
That third tier of quarterbacks that includes Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and Spencer Rattler will go higher than I have in this mock. I’ll try to refine their placement in the future. The tight ends and safeties were also hard to place because of the value of those positions compared to wide receiver and cornerback. The running backs and some of the third round receivers also fell further than I wanted them to, but there are only so many slot receivers I can mock in 100 picks.
I didn’t include trades in this mock but will consider adding them for March. Draft order is courtesy of Tankathon.

2024 NFL Draft First Round
1. Chicago Bears (Via Panthers): Caleb Williams, QB USC
Free Agents: Yannick Ngakoue, Marcedes Lewis, Darnell Mooney, Lucas Patrick, D'Onta Foreman, Jaylon Johnson, Justin Jones, Rasheem Green
In this scenario, the Bears opt to trade Justin Fields for some unknown amount of Day 2 draft assets. Williams is a better college prospect than Fields, and his passing acumen should at least put him on the level of an average starter to begin his career. Fields and Williams both have impressive mobility and live arms, but Chicago’s staff can’t continue waiting for Fields to develop.
2. Washington Commanders: Drake Maye, QB North Carolina
Free Agents: Curtis Samuel, Kendall Fuller, Cody Barton, Jacoby Brissett, Antonio Gibson, Jeremy Reaves, Cornelius Lucas, Joey Slye, Jamison Crowder, David Mayo
Rumors have started to swirl that Washington might try to trade with Chicago for the top pick. The Bears might accept a king’s ransom for the selection if they like both quarterbacks in the class, but there are a lot of hurdles to cross before that scenario becomes realistic. For now, the Commanders stay at second and draft Maye. Yes, he’s better than Jayden Daniels.
3. New England Patriots: Marvin Harrison Jr., WR Ohio State
Free Agents: Michael Onwenu, Anfernee Jennings, Josh Uche, Mack Wilson, Kyle Dugger, Nick Folk, Myles Bryant, Matthew Slater, Ezekiel Elliott, Jalen Mills, Mike Gesicki, Kendrick Bourne, Trent Brown, Hunter Henry
The Patriots desperately need a quarterback to displace Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, but new head coach Jerod Mayo might need to accept that things will get worse before they get better. New England’s roster isn’t built to support a young quarterback. They need to find foundational pieces for their offense to avoid permanently damaging a young passer.
4. Arizona Cardinals: Malik Nabers, WR LSU
Free Agents: Greg Dortch, Marquise Brown, Krys Barnes, Leki Fotu, Antonio Hamilton Sr., Geoff Swaim, Elijah Wilkinson
This is an ideal trade down spot for Arizona since Jayden Daniels is still on the board, but we’re not doing trades in this mock. Nabers is a blue-chip prospect with the ability to stretch the field or create after the catch. Outside of late-prime DeAndre Hopkins, Nabers will be the best receiver Kyler Murray has ever played with in the NFL.
5. Los Angeles Chargers: Rome Odunze, WR Washington
Free Agents: Michael Davis, Gerald Everett, Austin Ekeler, Kenneth Murray, Easton Stick, Jalen Guyton, Josh Kelley, Tanner Muse, Cameron Dicker, Will Clapp, Austin Johnson, Nick Williams, Alohi Gilman, Essang Bassey
Justin Herbert needs help. Personally, I believe the Chargers should target a right tackle at this spot. There are some options on the board who will receive high grades, including Taliese Fuaga, J.C. Latham, and Amarius Mims, but it feels like Odunze is the safer pick. He also has a very high ceiling and would serve as a cornerstone piece for Los Angeles.
6. New York Giants: Jayden Daniels, QB LSU
Free Agents: Adoree' Jackson, Saquon Barkley, Tyrod Taylor, Isaiah Simmons, Parris Campbell, Xavier McKinney, Sterling Shepard, Jihad Ward, A'Shawn Robinson, Rakeem Nunez-Roches, Jarrad Davis, Shane Lemieux, Darnay Holmes, Matt Breida
Brian Daboll might be in trouble. He probably won’t be fired after 2024 so long as the Giants avoid a total collapse, but that would require betting on Daniel Jones, which is something I’m not willing to do at this point. New York can’t move off of the Jones contract this year, but they can bench the Duke product in favor of Daniels. It’s a tough situation. You just have to suck it up and do it.
7. Tennessee Titans: Joe Alt, OT Notre Dame
Free Agents: Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, Denico Autry, Aaron Brewer, Sean Murphy-Bunting, Azeez Al-Shaair, Terrell Edmunds, Kristian Fulton, Morgan Cox, Trevis Gipson, K'Von Wallace, Chris Moore, Chris Hubbard
This is probably the most common mock draft pairing outside of Caleb Williams to the Bears. I have no idea if Brian Callahan will be a good head coach in Tennessee, but his father and new Titans coach, Bill Callahan, is a freaking legend. He’s one of the best offensive line coaches and was responsible for the line developing in Cleveland in recent years. Give him Alt and start fixing that offensive front.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Terrion Arnold, CB Alabama
Free Agents: Jeff Okudah, Bud Dupree, Calais Campbell, Nate Landman, Tre Flowers, Kentavius Street, Cordarrelle Patterson, Van Jefferson, Scotty Miller, Mack Hollins, Keith Smith, KhaDarel Hodge
I like Clark Phillips III, but the 2023 rookie struggled to start alongside A.J. Terrell. By drafting Arnold, Atlanta assembles one of the best young cornerback duos in the NFL and opens the door to kicking Phillips into the slot. This allows them to get their best combination of defensive backs on the field.
9. Chicago Bears: Brian Thomas Jr., WR LSU
Free Agents: Yannick Ngakoue, Marcedes Lewis, Darnell Mooney, Lucas Patrick, D'Onta Foreman, Jaylon Johnson, Justin Jones, Rasheem Green
Taking Thomas this high is a little rich, but there seems to be a drop between WR4 and WR5 in this class for some teams. This is Chicago’s last chance to get a wide receiver with a true first round evaluation in this class, so they bypass needs along the offensive and defensive lines in favor of a running mate for D.J. Moore.
10. New York Jets: Olu Fashanu, OT Penn State
Free Agents: Carl Lawson, Duane Brown, Dalvin Cook, Jordan Whitehead, Chuck Clark, Bryce Huff, Quinton Jefferson, Randall Cobb, Greg Zuerlein, Solomon Thomas, Al Woods, Connor McGovern, Thomas Morstead, Ashtyn Davis, Bryce Hall, Billy Turner
Jets fans all around the world rejoice. Fashanu is falling in recent mocks because of concerns about his run blocking and ability to handle power. Those concerns certainly exist, but he has rare movement skills and the tools to iron out flaws. Regardless of which lineman goes, this needs to be an offensive tackle.
11. Minnesota Vikings: Jared Verse, Edge Florida State
Free Agents: Kirk Cousins, Danielle Hunter, Marcus Davenport, Jordan Hicks, Dalton Risner, Joshua Dobbs, Greg Joseph, Cam Akers, K.J. Osborn, D.J. Wonnum, Jonathan Bullard, Theo Jackson, Khyiris Tonga, Brandon Powell, David Quessenberry, Austin Schlottmann
I wouldn’t blame Vikings fans for being mad with me about this one. I don’t think Verse goes this high on draft night, but it feels like any player selected in this range who isn’t an offensive tackle is a reach. I pondered this pick for the better part of a half hour before locking in Verse, who is an explosive edge rusher with good power. I’m assuming Minnesota brings Danielle Hunter back, but they still need a running mate for him.
12. Denver Broncos: J.J. McCarthy, QB Michigan
Free Agents: Josey Jewell, Wil Lutz, Graham Glasgow, Adam Trautman, Lloyd Cushenberry, Fabien Moreau, Cameron Fleming, P.J. Locke, Mike Purcell
Reach. You could convince me to take McCarthy in the second round. I wouldn’t touch him in the first, but the NFL seems set on making him a top-32 pick. The Broncos and Sean Payton are done with Russell Wilson, who is reportedly putting his house on the market, and I refuse to believe the franchise will turn the keys over to Jarrett Stidham.
13. Las Vegas Raiders: Taliese Fuaga, OT Oregon State
Free Agents: Josh Jacobs, Ameer Abdullah, Andre James, Jermaine Eluemunor, Austin Hooper, Greg Van Roten, Bilal Nichols, John Jenkins, Adam Butler, Amik Robertson, Isaiah Pola-Mao
Las Vegas has a bunch of starters and rotational offensive linemen hitting the market this spring. Very few of them should be brought back for 2024. It’s time to clean house and reset along the line’s right side. Fuaga plays with the style and mentality that I picture when I think about the Raiders. Antonio Pierce will love him.
14. New Orleans Saints: Amarius Mims, OT Georgia
Free Agents: Andrus Peat, Jameis Winston, Jimmy Graham, James Hurst, Max Garcia, Rashid Shaheed, Isaac Yiadom, Zack Baun, Lonnie Johnson Jr.
Mims might be the best tackle in this class. Unfortunately, he has fewer than ten college starts. Injuries and technical development are concerns, but the upside is through the roof. Former All-Pro right tackle Ryan Ramczyk has a cartilage defect in his knee. It’s time to consider a succession plan.
15. Indianapolis Colts: Quinyon Mitchell, CB Toledo
Free Agents: Grover Stewart, Gardner Minshew, Kenny Moore, Michael Pittman Jr., Rigoberto Sanchez, Julian Blackmon, Zack Moss, Taven Bryan
Mitchell checked in a bit smaller at the Senior Bowl than I was hoping, but he dominated the event. This isn’t a small school prospect you have to worry about. He’s ready to handle the trials of the NFL. Mitchell is a fantastic athlete with true shutdown potential. He’ll be a strong addition to a young Colts cornerback room.
16. Seattle Seahawks: Nate Wiggins, CB Clemson
Free Agents: Phil Haynes, Damien Lewis, Evan Brown, Colby Parkinson, Drew Lock, Bobby Wagner, Leonard Williams, Jordyn Brooks, Darrell Taylor, Mario Edwards Jr., Michael Jackson, DeeJay Dallas
I’ve seen some prominent draft analysts raise concerns about Wiggins’ lean frame and tendency to avoid tackling. However, it’s that lean frame that makes Wiggins one of the fastest cornerbacks in this class. He has elite speed and, outside of one long catch from Devontez Walker, clamped down on some of this draft’s best receivers in 2023. This pick lets Seattle keep Devon Witherspoon in the slot, where he looked best as a rookie.
17. Jacksonville Jaguars: Brock Bowers, TE Georgia
Free Agents: Ezra Cleveland, Tyler Shatley, Josh Allen, Jamal Agnew, Dawuane Smoot, Calvin Ridley, Brandon McManus, Tre Herndon, K'Lavon Chaisson, Angelo Blackson
Jacksonville runs enough two tight end sets that taking another one to pair with Evan Engram is a justifiable decision. Bowers isn’t quite the freak athlete Kyle Pitts was and doesn’t have the mass to be a true stud blocker. He’s a fantastic football player but might encounter more trials in the NFL than the people mocking him in the top ten anticipate.
18. Cincinnati Bengals: Byron Murphy, IDL Texas
Free Agents: D.J. Reader, Tyler Boyd, Chidobe Awuzie, Jonah Williams, Tee Higgins, Irv Smith Jr., Jake Browning, Josh Tupou, Drew Sample
Cincinnati has a lot of options at this pick. Tyler Guyton and J.C. Latham are both first round caliber right tackles who could step in to replace Jonah Williams. Kool-Aid McKinstry, Darius Robinson, and some of the wide receiver options might also draw consideration. Murphy is an athletic lineman who can play anywhere along the front. He gives the Bengals an extra pass rushing threat along the interior.
19. Los Angeles Rams: Tyler Guyton, OT Oklahoma
Free Agents: John Johnson, Demarcus Robinson, Ahkello Witherspoon, Kevin Dotson, Jordan Fuller, Troy Reeder, Larrell Murchison, Alaric Jackson
Rob Havenstein has been a really solid right tackle for the Rams. I’m not trying to replace him with this pick. There’s some thought that Guyton could play left tackle. He has taken a small number of snaps on that side of the line before. This is a risky pick, but Guyton’s incredible physical tools and the idea of potentially starting Alaric Jackson for another season could spur the Rams to action.
20. Pittsburgh Steelers: J.C. Latham, OT Alabama
Free Agents: Levi Wallace, Miles Killebrew, Kwon Alexander, Chandon Sullivan, Mason Rudolph, Markus Golden, Montravius Adams, Armon Watts
Broderick Jones is moving to left tackle, and Dan Moore is moving to the bench. All is right in the world. Latham is one of the largest offensive linemen in this class (in terms of weight). He sometimes has trouble redirecting for inside counters, but I thought he showed significant improvement from 2022 to 2023.
21. Miami Dolphins: Jackson Powers-Johnson, C Oregon
Free Agents: Jerome Baker, Cedrick Wilson, Connor Williams, Christian Wilkins, Braxton Berrios, Andrew Van Ginkel, Isaiah Wynn, Robert Hunt, Eli Apple, Brandon Jones, Raekwon Davis, Kendall Lamm, DeShon Elliott, Jake Bailey
This is another pretty chalky mock draft pick. The Dolphins have a few free agents they want to keep around. Center Connor Williams is definitely one of them, but the former guard played himself into a big payday in 2023. Powers-Johnson is an excellent alternative if the Dolphins don’t want to accept that price tag.
22. Philadelphia Eagles: Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB Alabama
Free Agents: Jason Kelce, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Marcus Mariota, Boston Scott, Zach Cunningham, Shaquille Leonard, Nicholas Morrow, Quez Watkins, D'Andre Swift, Olamide Zaccheaus
I also made this pick in my January mock draft. I don’t want to force a cornerback to Philadelphia in the first round, but corner is a huge area of need for the Eagles. Also, their only other ideal options are interior offensive line, pass rusher, or interior defensive line, and they’ve made several high round picks at those spots recently. Are they really going to double or triple down at those positions?
23. Houston Texans (Via Browns): Dallas Turner, Edge Alabama
Free Agents: Dalton Schultz, Ka'imi Fairbairn, Cameron Johnston, Josh Jones, Noah Brown, Devin Singletary, Steven Nelson, Sheldon Rankins, Tavierre Thomas, Jerry Hughes, Jonathan Greenard, George Fant, Denzel Perryman, Kareem Jackson
The Texans have one of the most talented young teams in the NFL, but some players are coming up for contracts. The biggest name among their pending free agents is defensive end Jonathan Greenard. Derek Barnett and Jerry Hughes are also set to hit the open market. Turner doesn’t have as much of a full-bodied, powerful build as Greenard, but things worked out pretty well the last time he paired with Anderson.
24. Dallas Cowboys: Cooper DeJean, DB Iowa
Free Agents: Tyron Smith, Tony Pollard, Stephon Gilmore, Jayron Kearse, Jourdan Lewis, Dorance Armstrong, Johnathan Hankins, Dante Fowler Jr., Neville Gallimore, Tyler Biadasz
Dallas is losing three regular contributors in their secondary to free agency. I prefer DeJean play a safety or slot role, replacing either Jayron Kearse or Jourdan Lewis, but Dallas might try to give him some of Stephon Gilmore’s snaps too. At worst, DeJean will be a quality starting safety.
25. Green Bay Packers: Kamari Lassiter, CB Georgia
Free Agents: Jonathan Owens, A.J. Dillon, Darnell Savage, Keisean Nixon, Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan, Rudy Ford
The Packers would’ve loved to get their hands on DeJean as a possible replacement for one of their several free agent defensive backs. With the versatile Iowa defender no longer on the board, Green Bay decides to ditch safety and focus on adding cornerback depth. I’m not quite sure what is going on in their cornerback room, but it feels like that whole group could go through a major shake up in the near future.
26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Troy Fautanu, OT/G Washington
Free Agents: Mike Evans, Devin White, Lavonte David, Baker Mayfield, Matt Feiler, Antonie Winfield Jr., Aaron Stinnie, Ryan Neal, Greg Gaines, William Gholston
Tampa Bay got quality offensive line play from a mismatched group in 2023. Matt Feiler and Aaron Stinnie are hitting free agency, and the Buccaneers have a clear opportunity to upgrade their left guard spot. Some analysts might be inclined to try Fautanu at left tackle. I think he’s a guard with the ceiling to be the second-best player on Tampa Bay’s line.
27. Arizona Cardinals (Via Texans): Laiatu Latu, Edge UCLA
Free Agents: Greg Dortch, Marquise Brown, Krys Barnes, Leki Fotu, Antonio Hamilton Sr., Geoff Swaim, Elijah Wilkinson
I am excited to see what role BJ Ojulari steps into this coming season. The other players in that edge room, including Zaven Collins, Victor Dimukeje, Dennis Gardeck, Jesse Luketa, and Cameron Thomas are an interesting mix of experiments who have produced middling results. Latu has a high floor with the best arsenal of pass rush moves in the 2024 class.
28. Buffalo Bills: Darius Robinson, DL Missouri
Free Agents: Micah Hyde, DaQuan Jones, Leonard Floyd, Tim Settle, Jordan Phillips, A.J. Epenesa, Poona Ford, Dane Jackson, Tyrel Dodson, Taylor Rapp, Damien Harris, Shaq Lawson, Gabriel Davis, Latavius Murray
Ed Oliver and Gregory Rousseau seem like long-term answers for the Bills, but they are losing a ton of talent in free agency. That includes multiple contributors along the interior and Leonard Floyd, who led the team with 10.5 sacks in 2023. Buffalo could just re-sign Floyd, but they might want to go for a cheaper option with positional versatility, especially as that nasty Von Miller contract starts taking chunks out of the cap.
29. Detroit Lions: Jer'Zhan Newton, IDL Illinois
Free Agents: C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Romeo Okwara, Charles Harris, Will Harris, James Houston, Benito Jones, Jerry Jacobs, Jonah Jackson, Teddy Bridgewater, Josh Reynolds, Emmanuel Moseley, Halapoulivaati Vaitai, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Brock Wright
Laiatu Latu and Darius Robinson would’ve been on the board here for Detroit if they fell a few more places. Instead, the Lions go with the most technically refined interior pass rusher in the class. Newton combined with Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeill to give Detroit a strong foundation up front.
30. Baltimore Ravens: Graham Barton, IOL Duke
Free Agents: Odell Beckham Jr., Kevin Zeitler, Michael Pierce, Gus Edwards, Nelson Agholor, Patrick Queen, Tyler Huntley, Jadeveon Clowney, Geno Stone, J.K. Dobbins, Justin Madubuike, Brent Urban, Rock Ya-Sin, Ronald Darby, Arthur Maulet, John Simpson
The Ravens always do their “just draft good players” thing. I’m not a huge fan of Barton, but he has the skill set to be a solid guard if NFL teams believe he can learn the position. Baltimore has several guards hitting free agency. I think they should try to retain right guard Kevin Zeitler, but there will be a competitive market for him. Barton could replace John Simpson at left guard.
31. San Francisco 49ers: Chop Robinson, Edge Penn State
Free Agents: Chase Young, Sam Darnold, Jon Feliciano, Tashaun Gipson Sr., Clelin Ferrell, Javon Kinlaw, Oren Burks, Kevin Givens, Ray-Ray McCloud III, Jauan Jennings
San Francisco recently made a change at defensive coordinator after a disappointing season on that side of the ball. Clelin Ferrell, Randy Gregory, and Chase Young had their moments, but I’m not sure any of them achieved enough to justify re-signing. Robinson is a bendy, explosive prospect who is a cut above Drake Jackson and other returning pass rushers (not named Nick Bosa) on the roster.
32. Kansas City Chiefs: Troy Franklin, WR Oregon
Free Agents: Chris Jones, Mike Edwards, Donovan Smith, Mecole Hardman, Tommy Townsend, Drue Tranquill, Willie. Gay Jr., Derrick Nnadi, Blake Bell, L'Jarius Sneed, Tershawn Wharton, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerick McKinnon
The Chiefs played half of 2023 with a hand tied behind their back as they tried to make Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Justin Watson, and eventually Mecole Hardman into volume pass catchers. Rashee Rice looks legit. Travis Kelce is a year older. Let’s just give Patrick Mahomes another explosive receiving threat and call it a day.
I think left tackle should also be on the board here. There are a couple of day two options who might make sense, including Jordan Morgan, Patrick Paul, and Kingsley Suamataia.
